Evidence

Every day in our office, we see multiple people with multiple dental problems. For almost every problem, we have a system and a solution to solve that particular problem or problems.

For example, if someone comes to our office with a cavity on a front tooth that is not causing pain and it is unsightly to the patient, we have a system to help that patient solve that problem.

In short, we would show the patient the cavity and discuss the treatment options. Once an option is decided, we then prepare the room for treatment. We place topical and anesthetize the patient. After waiting 5-10 minutes, then we start the procedure. We remove the decay through various tools.

After the decay is removed, I then check with other instruments to verify all of the decay is gone. Next, I use a material called SEEK to stain the teeth green. If no decay is present, then the SEEK washes right off. If, however, there is still decay present, the infected area will be green and require further removal of the decayed area. This process will continue until all of the infected area is removed and we have a nice solid and strong tooth structure to place our filling.

Next, we match the shade, place our filling, light cure the material, and finish the area to make it nice and smooth to match the teeth.

As a result, the SEEK is very important in helping us to make sure all of the decay is removed. Sometimes, once the cavity is removed, the remaining tooth structure appears normal in color and normal in hardness, yet the SEEK reveals the infected areas that are not readily visible.

Just like the SEEK gives evidence of remaining decay, the Holy Spirit gives evidence of His work in our life. The evidence of the Spirit working in our life is called the Fruit of the Spirit.

The Bible says,

"[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentlenesses, self-control; against such things, there is no law." -Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB)

Several things can be said about the evidence of the Holy Spirit in our life. First of all, if there is NO evidence of these fruits in our life, then we need to be saved and have a right relationship with the Father and He will send the Spirit to dwell in us. Secondly, if we are saved, then these fruits will be apparent in our life. We cannot hide the love of God. We can have joy in the midst of trials. Also, the closer that we walk with the Lord, and the more obedient we are to His Spirit and His will, the fruits will become more evident.

We should be a light in this world that says we are His. The fruits of the Spirit show that you are His for all to see. I pray that these fruits are evident in your life, that you are saved, and walking with the Father.
